The Mumbai rains and the Long Jump training

They say that everything you learn in life is useful. I’ve always had a firm belief in this famous saying.

I was a player of long jump in my school days. Yes, I was! I got formally trained on the techniques of long jump. I could never win any competition, but I am reaping the benefits of that training now in Mumbai. The Mumbai rains have got me utilize all my long jump skills to save my shoes. When it rains it pours in Mumbai. The roads are all full of muddy water, and it becomes difficult to walk on the road without messing up your shoes. I use all my long jump skills to save my beloved pair of Puma shoes.

What innovations have the Mumbai rains gotten out of you? Share……

  1. I couldn’t help but smile when I read this. Sports is always fun though the long jump is really hard to learn. But dude be careful apart from heavy rains, Mumbai is also notorious for its potholes so when you take a long jump ensure that you don’t dive inside a manhole and end up in some drainage instead :)D

    • hahahahahaha… thanks for the caution. It makes a lot of sense. I don’t want to land directly under the road.

  2. or you could travel by buses. rickshaws should be avoided coz they ll be the first ones to get flooded or stall in the middle of the road.

    • Oh ya… I did travel by bus y’day. just a two minutes ride though, bt it was more convenient..

  3. and yu got carbon credits saar….

  4. That was funny and interesting!!!!
