The Legend forever: Michael Jackson

The time stood still as the unbelievable news was aired on the internet and the news channels. I felt numb and couldn’t react to the news. The King of  Pop is no more; I still find it extremely difficult to believe. Michael died of cardiac arrest on June 25, 2009 at the age of 50.

Michael_JacksonMichael Jackson rocked the music world in the 80’s and early 90’s. It was a time when the music industry was dominated by the legendary rock bands, and the pop music was desperate to make a mark. Jacko, as he’s popularly known as, revolutionized the music industry by promoting the ignored Pop genre. No one has ever earned the title of a King in the music industry. The legend will always remain a legend. The king will continue to rule our hearts. People loved Michael Jackson despite his Not-so-Good public image. The King of Pop was the favorite child of controversies, but his fans always loved him for his contribution to the Pop music.

The American African singer has been credited for revolutionizing the music videos. He is one of the very artists who have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. Michael has been credited with the award of ‘Most Successful Entertainer of All Times’. The winner of 13 Grammy Awards and 13 Number One singles makes him the only male artist in the list of Hot 100 Era.

I remember how crazy I was, as a kid, about Michael Jackson. Every kid tried to dance like Jacko. We all loved his Black Hat and his curly hair. People who have grown up in the 80’s and 90’s will always cherish growing up dancing to the tunes of Michael Jackson.
